Time Travel: China's Silk Road

Since the days of Marco Polo - China's Silk Road, a series of ancient trade routes criss-crossing Asia, has conjured up images of mystery, intrigue, and adventure. Today, camel caravans no longer travel the road yet vibrant marketplaces from Kashkar to Beijing continue to conduct the timeless trade of business - in both traditional and modern forms.

Aurora photographer David McLain traveled the Silk Road with Classroom Connect on a student driven online expedition. David says it was "an experience he hopes will inspire you to explore this or any part of the fascinating world we all inhabit."
