Glassphalt

At twilight, "glassphalt" glitters on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

The streets of New York City are paved with a mix of asphalt and recycled glass.

According to a 1999 report by the EPA, 25.5% of glass products are recycled in the United States.

Each year, almost 13 million tons of glass is generated.
