Palestine: Strategic Assets.
Palestinian youths and Israeli troops clash daily in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian boys throw stones and Molotov cocktails. The highly trained Israeli troops retaliate with tear gas and gunfire.
The clash is over land.
Israeli settlers believe that the Old Testament gives them a right to live on this land.
Palestinian's counter that the Koran entitles them to call this land home.
Many of the boys are not afraid to loose their lives in these daily clashes. The boys believe that dying in the name of their Muslim faith will secure their place in heaven. If they are killed, their martyrdom will also bring honor and riches to their families.
Every day, approximately 40 people are injured in the clashes in Gaza. Approximately 5 percent of Palestinian boys under 18 regularly join in the clashes.
It is Palestine's hope that these repeated clashes between children and Israeli soldiers will turn international opinion against Israel and aid in their fight to regain land rights in Gaza.
