Fishing for the Masses:
From Asia, Africa, and North America, fishermen take to the vast oceans to harvest what was once thought an unlimited resource.
Travel the world and capture a glimpse of the fisherman's struggle for survival and efforts not to deplete the ocean's bounty.
Technology has quadrupled the world's seafood catch since 1950, but empty baskets are all some have to show for hours of toil in a local fishing ground.
By contrast a top boat fishing for sockeye salmon can gross $250,000 in a few weeks.
The depletion of fishing grounds also causes trawlers to roam half way around the world from their home ports in search of profitable catches, causing 40 percent of the the world's oceans to be locked up in territorial claims and exclusive fishing zones.
Join Aurora photographer, Rob Kendrick, on his journey across the oceans, fishing with large corporations wielding nets that hold up to 80 tons of fish and small families that are grateful for just 80 fish.
