Yamabushi Mineiri
Yamabushi Mineiri, or austerity people going up the mountain, is celebrated by 151 pilgrims on Mt. Haguro.
The yamabushi are members of the Shugendo sect which is a
blend of Shinto and Buddhism.

hats

dainichinyorai
and are
symbolic
of the
supreme Buddha

The five story pagota,

, was built 1,050 years ago and was repaired 380 years ago.
