Fish'n For Bones
Professor Willy Bemis tries to convince the hoard of burly sport fisherman surrounding him to give up their exotic catch in the name of science. He is, as noted writer John McPhee put it, "begg'n fish."
It's not always an easy sell as the fisherman see $170,000 in prize money in the fish they caught competing in the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, one of America's leading sport fishing events.
They are fishing for sport. Willy is fish'n for bones and sees an equal - yet completely unique - value in the catch as teaching tools for his graduate students and skeletons for his institution's collection.
Come along now on a journey with Aurora photographer David McLain and - believe it or not - follow a scientific expedition to the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo that's going Fish'n For Bones.
